The Band Toto Asia
Toto was expanding its production facilities overseas, and was doing business in France and Germany, Indonesia, Korea and Taiwan, Thailand and the People's Republic of China. North America was seen as an opportunity to grow for toilets and bidet seats, as opposed its "base" markets in Japan and China.
Dhaniram Toto was recording Toto words to ensure that the future generations would be able to read the words. However, many of the words were replaced with foreign ones, such as dui from Bengali for verandah.
Origins
Established in 1917, Toto's early years were a mirror of Japan's economic development. In 토지노 사이트 of its existence, the company made products to meet the demands of modern, contemporary urban housing. To do this, it employed the first tunnel kiln in the country to make ceramics in continuous flow. It also pioneered automation for production control, which helps to increase efficiency and consistency.
The company began expanding overseas in the late 1980s in order to profit from new markets and sales opportunities. It launched the Cera Trading Company, importing and selling other manufacturers' products to complement its own lines of sanitary earthenware and plumbing fittings. This strategy increased sales and expanded the market share of the company globally.

In the late 1990s, Toto had shifted its emphasis on research and development of water-related household appliances. It also redesigned its system of distribution to better serve its customers and improve profit. The company employed the same just-in-time approach to its supply chain management as well as sales program. This led to a higher level of satisfaction of customers.
Toto continued to develop toilet technology. The most recent toilet features a powerful, environmentally-friendly tornado flush. Toto uses recycled water for its manufacturing process and also has a green purchasing policy. In addition to toilets Toto manufactures bathtubs and faucets and hand dryers that are more efficient in energy use than conventional models.
The company's first museum opened in 2015 It has exhibits about Toto's iconic products and their evolution, its group companies (all related to ceramics), history of plumbing and products such as bath units and, in a different gallery, Toto products sold around the world. The museum also has bathrooms with a WASHLET and other toilet innovations.
Before the formation of Toto the members of the group performed session work for various musicians. Keyboardist David Paich, drummer Jeff Porcaro and guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather all played on the album Silk Degrees by Boz Scaggs. They also played on records by Steely Don, Seals and Crofts and Sonny and Cher.
Discography
With a name like Asia, you would think that the group would be prog queens and kings but they're actually a pretty straight forward rock group. The group started out as a quartet and released two albums - 1979's self-titled debut album and 1980's Armed to the Teeth. But even though the band have a diverse musical background, their biggest success was achieved in 1982 with Toto IV.
The album was a major blockbuster, but not without problems. The record companies placed Toto under pressure to release a hit single or else they would pull the album. Luckily for Toto, they did and they did it with the aid of the smash single "Africa."
Toto's musical mastery is due to their prior experience since the members had been session musicians for artists like Boz Scaggs, Steely Dan, and Seals and Crofts prior the group. Their sonic trademark has become the standard for 1980s music, and has inspired a lot of contemporary artists.
The album opens with a strong and pounding sound with songs like Running Out of Time and Unknown Soldier showcasing the bands ability to write amazing AOR songs that slowly build their hooks into your mind. The album also includes some slow, jazzier tracks like The Little Things and Chinatown. And the album ends with Great Expectations, a song which combines folk and distorted AOR and should sound completely wrong, but actually is incredibly effective.
After Toto IV, the band's fortunes changed to the downside. David Hungate left the band to pursue a solo career. The band had a variety of drummers. In 1984, Bobby Kimball was fired from the band in wake of drug charges and the band continued as a trio, which included Michael Porcaro and Steve Lukather.
Toto released Isolation despite the turbulence. It was not as popular as IV. The band was able to release an album that topped the charts, Kingdom of Desire, in 1992. The album marked the end of the original Toto lineup and was also the first to feature the new singer, Simon Phillips.

Line-up
Turn Back, the band's third studio album it was an ode to the classic sextet format, and an even more consistent and powerful album with a sharper edge. The more edgier sound of Turn Back reflected the maturation in the group. Bobby Kimball's growing virtuosity was reflected by the vocal delivery of Joseph Williams, who had become more confident and mature. David Paich's keyboard work was as well more refined, more precise, and less derivative on earlier efforts.
After touring to promote the album, the band recorded a live concert in Amsterdam that was released as a set of two CDs called Falling In Between Live on Eagle Records. The group released a new studio album a few months after, and went on a world tour promote the album. In this time keyboardist Greg Phillinganes filled in for Paich, and bassist David Hungate left the group to spend more time with his family.
In 1998, Paich and Lukather started searching through old tapes and demos for an album that would feature songs that had never been recorded before. The album was released in the form of a double-album called Then and Now in 2001. It was the first album in the history of the band not to feature any single song that had the word "A" in the title, and it also contained one previously unreleased track, "Kari-Anne".
By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. The group's fourth record, Old Is New was a commercial failure and vocalist Williams was suffering from laryngitis that affected his singing abilities. Additionally, Hungate returned to Nashville and drummer Leland Sklar was replaced by Shem von Schroeck.
Downes along with the other original members of Asia - Wetton, Palmer, and Howe--convened an event in England in the beginning of 2006 to discuss the possibility of formally reforming the band. The lineup, which was minus Howe (who was a member of Yes at the time) was later referred to as Toto XIV and toured extensively.
In 2010, the band reunited for another reunion tour with a slightly different line-up, including guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather, drummer John Pierce, bassist Shannon Forrest, and multi-instrumentalists Warren Ham and Dominique Taplin. The band also had a special appearance by singer Michael McDonald and a backing vocalist named Mabvuto Carver.
