Albums
The discography of the American rock band Toto includes 13 studio albums, 4 live albums, and numerous compilations. In addition to the release of original music, Toto has also done collaborations with other artists as well as on soundtracks for films. The band has received multiple Grammy Awards.
Before the formation of Toto the group, members worked as sessions for other musicians. Drummer Jeff Porcaro, bassist David Hungate and keyboardist David Paich (the son of session percussionist Marty Paich and brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro) played on Boz Scaggs' 1975 album Silk Degrees. The collaboration led to the formation of Toto in 1976.

The band's third album, Turn Back, marked a departure from the more progressive sound of their earlier albums, and was criticised for its absence of hit singles. In 1985 the singer Fergie Frederiksen resigned from the group The band held auditions for the new frontman. Guitarist Steve Lukather was chosen, and the band recorded the 1986 album Fahrenheit.
Toto released Toto XX in 1998 to mark the 20th anniversary of the band. The group went through old tapes and recordings to create the album. The album was well-loved by fans and Toto embarked on an extensive tour with former members Bobby Kimball Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.
During the tour for the album 40 Trips Around the Sun, drummer Leland Sklar left the group and was replaced by Shem von Schroeck. In 2017, Toto released a double-CD live album titled Falling in Between, which included live recordings from the tour as well as an interview with Toto.

During the tour, lead singer Bobby Kimball was arrested on drug charges. At the conclusion of the tour, the band decided to let him go, and they hired guitarist/singer Joseph Williams to take his place. David Hungate, the drummer was also let go after the tour. He was replaced by bassist Leland Sklar.
The TOTO Museum is an impressive futuristic building that has several rooms devoted to telling the story of the company and its most innovative products. Toto has produced a number of music videos. The band has also released several compilation videos and DVDs. The most watched video by the band is "Africa", with over one billion views. The video is set in a library and features the group performing on top of a book about Africa.
The track "Africa" is from the album Toto IV. The song was written by the band members and produced David Paich. It was a huge hit in Europe and a variety of other countries. The success of the single helped Toto to regain their fame, after their previous album Turn Back failed to chart in America.
After the album's release, Toto went on a world tour. The group included touring backing musicians Lenny Castro, Shannon Forrest, Warren Ham and Shem von Schroeck. In addition, guitarist Steve Lukather released his second solo album, Luke.
In 1985 the drummer Fergie Frederiksen quit Toto due to personal reasons. Toto decided to hold an audition, and eventually chose Joseph Williams to replace Frederiksen.
Before and during the formation of Toto, its members did session work for various artists. Drummer Jeff Porcaro and bassist David Hungate performed on the album Silk Degrees by Boz Scaggs which led to the band's formation. Paich played keyboards on Steely Dan records, Seals and Crofts and Sonny and Cher.
In 1998, Toto started working on the project titled Old Is New. The album featured three new tracks as well as a number of completed recordings of older songs. The album was a huge success worldwide and the band went on a world tour to promote the album.

The band Toto is best known for their hit "Africa", recently reunited for a tour to promote their latest album, All In. The album, released on November 6, 2018 featured three new tracks from the upcoming 40 Trips Around the Sun as well as a complete recording of four previously released tracks featuring Jeff Porcaro playing drums and Mike or Steve Porcaro playing bass. The album also featured the cover of Weezer's track "Hash Pipe" which the band decided to include after hearing a rendition on the radio.
